Student Scholarships

The Student Financial Services area within the Foundation administers yearly scholarship programs to deserving medical students from Pennsylvania. It is important to note, our scholarship opportunities are made possible by generous contributions from the Pennsylvania Medical Society and its Alliance, county medical societies and alliances, physician members, and other partnerships within the medical community.

Scholarships available July 2018 through September 2018:

Allegheny County Medical Society Medical Student Scholarship (ACMS)
The ACMS Scholarship is awarded to a third or fourth-year medical student who resides in Allegheny County and is enrolled full time in a Pennsylvania medical school.

Blair County Medical Society Scholarship (BCMS)
The BCMS Scholarship is awarded to a second, third, or fourth-year medical student who is a resident of Blair County.

Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent (ESASID)
The Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent Scholarship is awarded to a South Asian Indian student enrolled full time in his/her second, third, or fourth year at a Pennsylvania medical school. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania. 

Lehigh County Medical Auxiliary's Scholarship and Educational (LeCoMASE) Fund Scholarship
The LeCoMASE Fund Scholarship is awarded to a medical student who is a resident of Lehigh County.

Lycoming County Medical Society Scholarship (LCMS)
The LCMS Scholarship is awarded to a medical student who is a resident of Lycoming County.

Montgomery County Medical Society-William W. Lander, MD, Medical Student Scholarship (MCMS)
The MCMS Scholarship is awarded to first-year medical students who are residents of Montgomery County.

Myrtle Siegfried, MD, and Michael Vigilante, MD, Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a first-year medical student who is a resident of Berks, Lehigh, or Northampton County.

Scott A. Gunder, MD, DCMS Presidential Scholarship
The Scott A. Gunder, MD, DCMS Presidential Scholarship is awarded to a second-year medical student from Penn State College of Medicine at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania.

Shah Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a first-year medical student attending a Pennsylvania medical school and is a resident of either Philadelphia County or of the following municipalities in Lower Bucks County: Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, or Bensalem Township.

 

Scholarships available January 1, 2019 - February 28, 2019:

Alliance Medical Education Scholarship (AMES)
The Alliance Medical Education Scholarship (AMES) Fund is awarded to second or third-year medical students (when applying), and who are residents of Pennsylvania and enrolled full time in a Pennsylvania medical school.
