Nurses' Health Program

The Foundation's newest program is the Pennsylvania Nurses' Health Program (PA NHP). The PA NHP provides monitoring and advocacy for nurses, dietitian-nutritionists, and student nurses who have substance use disorders, mental health disorders and/or behavioral concerns that may impact their ability to practice their chosen profession safely. The PA NHP has cooperative working relationships with the State Board of Nursing, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, hospitals, medical staffs, and managed care organizations. The program is funded by the contract for Nurse Peer Assistance Monitoring in the Commonwealth; contributions from nurses, hospitals and others interested in nurse health issues; and participant fees.
