Physicians' Health Program announces new director

The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society is thrilled to announce the appointment of Tiffany Booher, MA, LPC, CAADC, CIP, CCSM as program director for the Physicians’ Health Program (PHP).

Booher has been employed at the Foundation since 2013. Most recently, she led the case management team for the PHP. Effective September 30, 2019, she will assume the mantle of leadership overseeing all aspects of program operations including case management.

“Tiffany’s depth of knowledge and commitment to those we serve will continue to advance the PHP in a manner that is consistent with ensuring service excellence for all of our participants,” said Foundation Executive Director Heather Wilson, MSW, CFRE, CAE.

Booher holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in applied clinical psychology, both from Penn State University. She is a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor, certified intervention professional, certified case manager and a licensed professional counselor. She has worked in the behavioral health field for more than 12 years.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the Physicians’ Health Program,” Booher said. “I look forward to honoring the foundation of excellence that has been established at the PHP, while expanding the services that we offer for the people that we serve.”

The Foundation, a nonprofit affiliate of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, sustains the future of medicine in Pennsylvania by providing programs supporting medical education, physician health, and excellence in practice. The Physicians’ Health Program, a program of The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, provides support and advocacy to physicians and other eligible health care professionals struggling with substance use disorders, mental illness or behavioral concerns that impact their ability to practice their chosen profession safely.
