2010 Physician Philanthropists–Sustaining the Future of Medicine

Physician philanthropists, their practices, hospitals and friends in 2010…

  • Supported medical student financial services by promoting the establishment of funding mechanisms, volunteering to serve on scholarship selection committees, and/or contributing generously to a low-interest loan program and eight scholarship funds administered by the Foundation.
  • Provided the resources to the Physicians’ Health Programs to recommend evaluation and/or treatment, and monitor physicians with chemical dependencies and physical or psychiatric disabilities. The program managed an active caseload of 450 participants and 150 new referrals.
  • Advocated for LifeGuard, a skills assessment/advanced training program for physicians whose clinical competence has been questioned or who wish to re-enter active practice after an extended absence.

The 2010 Annual Report celebrates our physician philanthropists. For over 55 years, the Foundation has reflected the caring spirit of Pennsylvania physicians who remain consistent in their support, enabling us through their generosity to continue to extend a hand to their colleagues and future physicians in need.

As we end the year, we understand that our success is due to the commitment that physicians make to giving back to their profession through their philanthropic organization, the Foundation. The strength of that commitment enables us to continue to provide resources and services of the highest quality.

Physician philanthropists are extraordinarily devoted to the work we do. We are fortunate indeed!

Thank you!
